  • Actually I'm still a student but I want to know how to overcome this past trauma before entering into relationships. I'm blessed with this foundation

  • Yes, therapy, counselling and all of that is great but sister Titi mentioned the ultimate which is, "healing in the place of prayers". May God continually open our eyes to patterns that we need to heal from. And sometimes when we're broken, we've gotten so used to the posture of pain that it's difficult to realign. In those moments, we need God for pruning.

    • Hmmm. To begin with, we reaffirm the necessity of healing. In this case where healing is hampered by in-laws, we expect your spouse to plug the gap. S/he should be addressing his/her family members, and be tough enough where required. So, how about you peacefully call the attention of your spouse to this concern and point him/her to your expectations. If no improvements, you want to seek intervention of a counsellor. Peace.
