Few days ago, a young professional explained that while the whole world fights COVID-19 with everything, some people are forgotten in their personal destiny marring crises.
She added that, by the time she slowed down to take stock, COVID-19 chaos had only served to cover up some of the worst news she could ever absorb – in and out of hospital admissions on multiple occasions with neuro and cardiac issues while her spouse has been battling with brain tumours and multiple brain surgeries; all in four months.
The Holy Spirit brought back the "LEAN ON ME" song as I walked away from her, and began to instruct on what more we can do. I don’t know which line of that song that I can crop out but I am extremely happy that we all can activate “CALL ME” to the God who always listens, to everyone. And although I fight back tears as I write this, I have come to acknowledge that these are some of the most difficult times many folks will ever go through in their lifetimes.
Tearfully, my mind casts back to the love shown by a late uncle and a cousin whose consistent little drops of kind generosity helped to cushion the anguish of poverty those years. I remember few darling precious friends whose willing helping hands ensured that there was optimal glucose to sustain my body during my nursing school days. At another time, it was some blessed ogas who loyally thumbed up ‘omoga’ – tall boy (as they fondly call me) for that curtain raiser opportunity at the ever blessed Castle of Mercy.
Few days after the Christening ceremony of Inioluwa, robbers carted away with our brand new Thermocool generator. The first statement from my shocked head was “God forgive the thieves and redeem them”. Ma’ami was shocked to hear that. How shall I utter unedifying cursive words? Even though we couldn’t afford a replacement of such ‘heavy’ investment, God will provide - that was my solace.
Then, a family of friends whom we love dearly and respect but although we have just never been so physically close; requested for my account number. God instructed them to fund the replacement of the generator. We got the exact same generator, and today the generator is still serving God’s long term purpose for it, in His house of prayer.
I remember how Uncle Jerome (God bless his soul) and his lovely wife gifted us a car; how our mentors and a big friend put us on monthly salary at different times in this young marriage, including during my initial months in Europe.
Lean on me.
I remember how a big brother wrote off our loan and how an uncle chose to fund our jump. I remember the poor women who borrowed long term ajo (thrifts) to fund our dreams. Too many more.
Beyond finances and materials, we lean on many people from time to time; in the terms of counsels and technical inputs. Going through our many challenges have been made easier by some friends’ broad shoulders that always keep in touch and cheerlead many goal attainments, passions and projects, including the implementation of this website; everything.
One of our boys will get up in the morning and boast of not being wet overnight; he is too young to understand that busy and jaded parents chose to keep 3 hourly toileting vigils, after busy days at work. He is not dry by his own efforts. So are all of us.
We can’t live without the input of others, just as we have to be there for them too. Being there, not as trade by barter service but as service unto God Who shall reward all of us accordingly, and at His timing.
For many godly family factors, Titilayo and I don’t like to blow trumpets publicly. We don’t believe that every good deed, gesture, success or breakthroughs must be made public or paraded. We rather serve God's purposes off the eyes of the public. However, we are convinced that the Holy Spirit is asking us to do this and we have rung it by our mentors.
Please, if you are unemployed or in an employment that is tantamount to unemployment (please I am not talking about people on loans or repaying ajo o), we are talking about people left with nothing because of the trying times and the badly governed nation in which they found themselves. If you have a business idea that you can start with a "TOKEN" and can be committed to giving account of the business to God before no one can feign fainting or syncope; then maybe you are one of the people the Holy Spirit told us about.
Please send a message from the CONTACT US section of this website and thoroughly explain the business idea, how you hope to run it successfully and include your bank account details. In addition, we are aware that there are many people in our communities who need as little as #5,000 - #10,000 to start a very small business and they are not on Facebook, so they are not reading this. The Lord is reaching out to them too in this move.
You can be sure that identities of the beneficiaries will be held confidential. Please nobody should contact me and Titilayo directly on this, please. There is a committee at the back end, made up of leaders of worthy reports who will receive your messages, prayerfully sieve the messages and take care of implementing this vision, independently. In case God shall lay in your heart to partner with us in funding this project, please can you kindly mail me at Lekan@selahseries.com or Titi@selahseries.com and subject of the email should be FUNDING.
Don’t forget to open up to people around you, whom you are sure that they will not take advantage of your vulnerability. Relate with them and brainstorm together on the issues bothering your mind and family life. Please approach this prayerfully, God is always able to lead and He will order you to the people you should relate with. Whatever it is that you are going through or going through you, I decree God’s peace, In Jesus' name.
Have a beautiful weekend.
