Revelations are the propellers for those who want to do well in life. God is so gracious and will not leave us in the dark but how connected and sensitive are we to The Father's network? Of many people in the scriptures, I am often amazed at how revelation helped Pharaoh and the Egyptians during the days of Joseph. God revealed the future to the heathen king and his keenness to know the interpretation and implement the recommendations can't be bettered.
I almost concluded that today's post would be for the affluent few. Whoever still has savings in this current global economic situation can be considered affluent. It is well. But did you know that you have the same time capital as Musk and Gates? And that you can put your brain to work far above what you can dare to imagine? With the best 2 capitals known to humans in your custody, perhaps you are richer than you have ever thought. What do you invest your time in? What do you feed your brain with and what noble exploits do you do with it? If you are poor, it may be because you are not deploying your capitals appropriately.
From my professional experience, I know that an incident or diagnostic finding can severely hurt or altogether ruin a family's finances. As the Lord helped Joseph to interpret Pharaoh's dream, there were going to be 7 years of plenty followed immediately by 7 years of famine. Just as the latter part of the 7th year (the peak of plenty) heralded the first quarter of the 8th year (famine) in Egypt; the transition of many families, organisations and nations from the years of plenty to the years of lack may just span over a few months, or a few years. The stocks market in 2008 remains fresh in my head. Lofty dreams shrunk and disappeared. Many people without financial safety nets went down till date, some committed suicide.
We are not wishing for any bad thing to happen to anyone - far from it, but unfortunate stuffs do happen, unfortunately. Yes, I align my faith with yours - no evil will befall us in Jesus’ name. Amen. Now, let's approach it mildly - do you have any safety net in place to safeguard yourself and family in case of famine? I learnt from the stocks market experience that a single plan to financial security is not enough, don't put all your eggs in one basket, says the elders.
Consider your income, family size, financial responsibilities, and reliable financial security services available around you to determine which is good for your family. Many people, families and businesses in Nigeria who can afford essential insurance policies don't have the policies in place. So, a store keeper's single error was enough to start a fire which burnt down the shop. That was all that needed to happen for the previously comfortable mistress to become a pauper and beggar. I grew up close to a major motor park. I can recall many drivers and breadwinners who became conductors after their vehicles got involved in accidents.
Years ago, I had a patient who just wanted to go home and hold an hour meeting, and then die peacefully. He knew that the prognosis wasn't good and his worst fear wasn't death - it was the family he was leaving behind. I reckoned that the wealthy man didn't have a will in place and he didn't trust the next of kin to deal righteously with the "loot". Luckily, he went out on his feet and I bet he was meeting with his solicitors and family immediately. Another former client of mine wasn't as lucky - he died and ignoble traditions took over everything he and his wife had worked for. That was how his nuclear family suffered and transitioned to the flip side of affluence, in just within few months. Shit happens; don't leave trails behind you.
When you talk to the service providers, they will advise on the various packages and policies, and the monthly or yearly costs. Oh, you will tell me how your income isn't enough and you can't afford to add another bill? It is okay, if that's your final decision on it. For ethical reasons, we will not recommend any policy provider, but we advise that you look into this.
